Oxfordshire - among the 10 most 'recession proof' counties with prices up by 12.3%

There has been much doom and gloom about the property market recently but these figures mask widespread regional variations. Times Money has revealed that Oxfordshire is officially the most recession-proof county in England, having registered the biggest annual increase of asking prices over the last year. Indeed prices rose in Oxfordshire by 2.9% last month alone, taking the average price to £354,868. Susi Morgan comments that the schools in Oxfordshire encourage the London and international buyers to move into the area, the excellent routes into London and the Midlands make it a perfect location with the proximity of the M40 and train services. We have been inundated with buyers looking for quality family homes in the area recently and need new stock to supply this demand. We have once again seen multiple offers on properties in sought after locations in the county.
